There are rumors that the new AMD Zen chip will cost around $300 USD. I doubt the price will be this low for an 8 core 16 threads CPU.

However, it is interesting that the Intel® Core™ i7-6850K on newegg.ca dropped by 26% (or $250) in price.

A $950 high-end CPU dropped to $700 since it release date 7 months ago.

Maybe this is a sign that Intel is a bit worried.

Right that could be theyre noticing people dont stick to their product like they used to, ive notice a 100% increase in Intel's advertisments through Television, even paying for names like Michael Phelps to be in commercial ads and other celebrities.

They seem to be pushing their product hard which any company would do, but Intel was known as 1 of the long standing few top brands and when a company like that starts up advertisments again it usually means they are seeing some sort of threat or decrease in sales.

Hopefully everything works out for them, though people are thinking of PC's more like cars now, where if you can get 1 with the same functional use but its a different brand so the price is much less they go for it. Instead of people buying the first PC they see on a shelf in the store without checking its price to power ratio, and unfortunately Intel gets that overblown persona about it where their products are good but you pay for the brand as much as the product and people are avoiding those more now a days.
