Class name: Pyro
Skills:

“Ring of Fire” (Signature Skill - Automatic) IT BURNS BURNS BURNS!!

When zombies come within range of a pyro an orange ring will start to spread out around them repeatedly (like a SWAT). Zombies within the ring will be ignited and slowly take burning damage, which could increase the longer they burn (or leveling up this skill could just increase base damage.)

Once the effect starts to wear off it will turn red, then maroon, and then black before disappearing. The skill then goes on a short cooldown.

Other Skills:

Super Strong Flash Light Burn:
This skill may not even be necessary but if the “Ring of Fire” was on cool down you could also set individual zombies on fire just by using the flashlight, which is more risky!

Increased Run Speed (Not much probably like electric engineer)

Increased Damage (This does not include fire obviously, and the amount of damage will depend on the fire damage)

Increased Health and Ammo (Not a lot)

So yeah that’s basically it. I have seen mods where admins can set players on fire, so this idea of a class Theoretically is possible. I also don’t think this class was thought of beforehand so I apologize if it was. And I would like some feedback on this idea and if anyone else likes it.

Lol I can’t believe this flew right over my head, but instead of the ring you could also just have bullets ignite the zombies. (But imo the Ring of Fire sounds cooler.)

o right there is probably something there, someone with a little talent / knowledge of C+ code could probably make it work through the standard Sourcemods sm_burn command, although ive never seen an option / cvar or anything that dictates how much dmg is done by said fire, it only seems to be a set standard amount of dmg and you can only initiate the burn, but im assuming that could be specified in the plugin

yeah not a bad idea and is pretty easily adaptable to whats there, if we could get the original coder that made the plugin to work it that would be ideal since he already knows the ins and outs of how the rpg plugin operates

or if Hades could figure it out but hes usually pretty busy, which is a bummer but its what keeps our servers going currently too, so be as busy as you need to Hades ;D lol

Oh yeah that’s completely understandable. Especially when you have to pay for other things such as living expenses. I am definitely happy with what we have now and look forward to the future of this community. :)

right, im curious myself to see what happens with community based MP / server hosting in general, especially here soon when a lot of developers start shutting down the MP servers for a lot of old games ppl still play often enough

hopefully by then we can get it where most any game that has a MP mode also has a dedicated server version release along with it, so when they do shut stuff down ppl can find a server community that works with the type of game the player wants MP mode for again, then donate to their patron or whatever to get some servers to play the said game again, and as long as enough ppl are still around that want servers for the game again to donate the communities can keep whatever game of interest alive for each other

so go prop MB256! = :p
legal rights for video game customers to get server version of their games with MP when purchasing said game product, so if the devs get stingy with the MP server hosting we customers / users can at least do it ourselves, to make sure we can theoretically have all the needed parts to be able to make 100% of the game product we bought usable again, so it would basically make all games have a do launches like Valve did for CSS L4D2 etc.
(of course some exclusions might apply for certain types like MMO RPG, like a clause where no community server can be hosted while there are still active proprietary developers servers active, but if they kill the game ever then its open season lol! like in terms of WoW and other like games)
